You’ll be surprised!
“The most basic and powerful way to connect to another person is to listen. Just listen. Perhaps the most important thing we ever give each other is our attention… A loving silence often has far more power to heal and to connect than the most well-intentioned words.” — Rachel Naomi Remen
Sounds easy right?
But guess what?
So many people fail to listen to each other every day.
You will hear countless stories of people talking about how they don’t feel heard by the individuals they are taking the time to speak to.
In these situations, the people who are doing the listening are doing a terrible job of active listening.
But what exactly is active listening?
By definition, active listening is “when you not only hear what someone is saying, but also attune to their thoughts and feelings. It turns a conversation into an active, non-competitive, two-way interaction.”
